View Full Version : Looking for BEST of the BEST laptop, no budget limit.
Hey guys, just like the title said. Is there a company out there that is either on par or higher than voodoopc for building the ultimate laptop? This is not a joke.

I can build you a $3,000 notebook that weighs less 2.5lb, has lots of battery life but sucks in gaming or I can build a $3,000 notebook that's great for gaming but has bad battery life and weighs a ton...
I guess 2 of the requirement is 17 inch and less than 9lb, other than that price is not an issue. Looking over voodoopc seems promising but just seeing if there is more option out there than just that.

I was going to recommend the Dell 20" LT, but when you limit it to 9lbs, that knocks it off the list of options.
I would look at HP and Lenovo laptops. Dell quality and support have gone WAY downhill in the last couple of years.

I would go with VoodooPC, my roommates experience with Alienware support has been miserable.

that voodoopc envy 171 is a clevo notebook. I don't see any use in paying extra for the name. Try building the NP9261 on Sager's website and see what it comes out to pricewise (or check out the variety of other clevo resellers (http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=91510)).

lenovo reserve serie would be good just for the heck of spending $5000 on an average notebook. But that leather does look smooth...

Executive Class support - Three years parts and labor (system battery: one year) - Onsite Repair
adnd this is why it is $5k, otherwise non of the specs even come close to being worth $5k.

I second Killernotebooks...
Beyond what's mentioned above, he'll overclock it if you ask and keep it under warranty. He optimizes XP Pro instead of loading on garbage. He's the only one who makes custom coolers internally to replace the normal junk. It is simply a no bs gaming laptop.
The latest he has is the Odachi... nearly 15k 3dMark 05 and 9659 3dMark06. Nothing will come close with other notebooks. Quad Core, custom power block, custom cooling, etc...
They are expensive, but worth it imho...
Check out the dell 1730
Hell of a notebook...
