Need a little more information about your system (more than what's in your sig). What OS, Motherboard, soundcard, etc...
Last thing you upgraded to would be helpful as well.

Is it Windows 98? Because if it is then you need to get the Windows 98 Shutdown Supplment.

Try Windows Update from your Tools menu from your IE.

Miss Winnie, you've been having trouble with this system for quite a while. I remember suggesting a few things from a previous topic. I know you must be getting frustrated. Didn't we conclude that you have a wimpy power supply and that maybe the system is overheating too? Have you done anything since then to try and correct the situation? You could also be having Windows registery error problems. Perhaps you might consider using Norton Utilities to clean up your operating system and/or reformatting the harddrive and doing a clean Windows reinstall. You also might consider installing a better CPU cooler, an extra case fan and a better power supply (300 to 350 watt minimum). I't no fun being mad at your computer all the time. Good luck.

Seems like it was Windows 98.

It probably had some software conflict maybe.

Cool, glad the updates helped a little. I've done all the Windows upgrades, especially what is called the "critical upgrades", it helps a lot.

As well as me.

When I first installed Win2K the first thing I tried to grab was SP2 then all the updates then install all my programs.
