So I currently have the DDR2 800 G.Skill NQ's... They are great ram but I recently upgraded to a Opteron 1212 that can do 3.0GHz. My ram maxes at about 470MHz, which stops the opty at 2.8GHz. I've been considering upgrading to crucial ballistix DDR2 800 since its so cheap right now in hopes to get 500MHz on the ram. My question is, is it worth it? Will I notice a difference between 470MHz/2.8GHz and ~500MHz/3.0GHz???

You would notice because of the difference in CPU speed, memory speed alone will not make a noticeable difference. Just set your mem divider to 533 (/8) and run your CPU at 3GHz, that will give you 750MHz RAM, virtually same performance as 3GHz CPU/1GHz RAM.

Thats the response I was looking for. I didn't think it would make much of a difference but I wanted some more opinions.
