Is there a difference between the EVGA Superclocked and the EVGA KO versions of the 8800GT other than 25mhz in clock speed?

Is newegg's launch day pricing the only factor that makes the superclocked more expensive? It would seem like at this point the KO version is a better buy unless there is something I am missing.

I'm waiting for the 8800gt SSC--- factory OC'd to 700core/2000mem/1750shader for $290

I am hoping the eVGA 8800GT SC I just bought can get that with better cooling ;)

The SSC might be worth a small amount more for the guarantee but not a lot imo. All 8800GT afaik are spec'd to use Qimonda 1ns memory (=1000MHz/2000MHz DDR'd) there's your memory speed and the overclocks probably aren't going to be unusual. It's kind of funny how things have changed, in many cases it used to be 'wait until they get the manufacturing right to get better clockers' now as often as not it's 'buy asap before they learn how to bin them' :D

Speaking of which how did the people on Newegg post reviews yet  Unless they live within LOCAL delivery distance of one of the warehouses, as in the package never goes through a sorting facility, or they do pickup (is that available at Newegg yet?) I don't see how they're posting their OWN product reviews. More like 'hey looky what I read on the intertubes.'

Yep. That is correct.

Yep. That is correct.

I believe I saw A2 core on a GPU-Z screenshot. Could of just been a error from reading a GT instead of a GTS, but you thin they are going to use A3 for higher clocks, or GTS?

Maybe? Any change at all? :p

I don't think you can compare an A2 8800GT w/ an A2 8800GTS since the 8800GT has a completely different die/core. Smaller die, more transistors, different architecture. Should be a whole new ball-o-wax.
