I recently got a cheapo MP4 player and I want to put an Audio Book I downloaded on it, the files are in .m4b extension, ive tried about 8-9 different converting software all of them have some sort of problem, one takes an extremely long time even longer than transcoding video would take on my PC and with the others I encountered some kind of error when converting or they were not able to recognize the files.

anyone know a reliable converter? and how long should a file take to convert the files I have are roughly 260-290mb in size.

thanks

I use MelodyCan. Conversion speed is good and quality is very nice. I noticed when playback window is partially obscured it doesn’t affect converted file. Other progs have a problem with it. So MelodyCan.com is my choice for today.

Hope it`ll help :)

Im starting to think theres something wrong with the files, I tried using TuneBite this encodes in real time and the audiobook I have is 11 hours so thats quite out of the question, Noteburner seemed promising until I found out that neither WMP or Nero would let me burn the file to Noteburners virtual drive in Audio format.

It game me an error in both nero and WMP.

Nero said -

One or more files could not be added to a compilation.
It may be possible, that the files can be added, if a dedicated plug-in is installed.

WMP said -

It is not possible to burn the list of files because all of the files have errors or are missing burning rights

I dunno what to do, will any other audio converter make that much of a speed difference compared to tunebites real time "11 hour" encoding job
