I am running an athlon t-bird 1.33 and its not overclocked yet but i was wondering what tempertatures it should be running at... I have a Dragon Orb 1 fan and heatsink on it... My current temp is about 54C, i was also wondering if this is to hot to be running my chip at would my computer automatically step down my fsb to 200mhz instead of 266? i restarted my comp after some gaming and noticed that it was at 200 and wouldnt go back to 266 until i turned my comp off for a few min and then turned it back on. Another question would be my pc probe keeps beeping at me because my+12v is at +13.1... is this bad? and is this a sign of my powersupply going out?? (its new) Thanks

your psu is not 'going' in fact it shows that it is quite good and con provide a high wattage

i am guessing that the high temp is due to your case no haveing good ventilation, make sure it has fans blowing in and an equil amount going out.

running the fsb at 200 will do nothing to reduce temps as it is still running at the same speed but the memory is not working as hard

I have been wondering about the temps for the 1.33 also. I am running the Asus a7a266 with the 1.33. My temps were at about 46C with a TT volcano6cu and then down to 41 with the Vantec 6035D(noisy!). Some of the guys in the firums are getting temps in the 30's so I always wonder if my cpu is running too hot. I have the Antec case with a few fans so the circulation is pretty good. My son has the Asus a7m266 with a 1.33 and he is at 38C. Do the cpus really vary that much in terms of the temps?

On the psu, check out the 5v line as well as the 12v and 5v are frquently if not always adjusted together and if one is out then I would suspect the other is fairly high as well. This can be corrected often but first check it out.

54 is way too hot! asus mobo? I would double check the hsf and get rid of the pad and use a thermal compound. I don't know why the chip would boot at 10x100 instead of 10x133.

hey i have a 1.4 @ 1.6 and i am at 50C load and 44C idle. By the way, its not way too hot. Computer chips are made to burn out at about 75C. This would burn ur hand if touched. Just get a few 120mm fans and a good hsf combo. ( www.1coolpc.com ). Great website for good selection of stuff. Email them and ask what hsf would be best.
