I am running an athlon t-bird 1.33 and its not overclocked yet but i was wondering what tempertatures it should be running at... I have a Dragon Orb 1 fan and heatsink on it... My current temp is about 54C, i was also wondering if this is to hot to be running my chip at would my computer automatically step down my fsb to 200mhz instead of 266? i restarted my comp after some gaming and noticed that it was at 200 and wouldnt go back to 266 until i turned my comp off for a few min and then turned it back on. Another question would be my pc probe keeps beeping at me because my+12v is at +13.1... is this bad? and is this a sign of my powersupply going out?? (its new) Thanks

ur temps seem to be a little on the hot side, is it 54C under load or idle, if it under full load then u just have to keep the benith 50C as for optimal temps, but if ur 54C at idle that could be the problem of the comp not running higher speeds untill u turn it off (it cools) then back on again. I'm not sure about the dragon orb but my ex-Super Orb did the same job as a generic HS does but w/ all the noise it put out... What is ur 5V line, ur +12 seems a bit high, not sure if its dangerous or not, but I noticed that when my comp under load and 5V dops the 12V ups... check it out.

My 5v is about 4.9... its about 54c all the time during load and idle, it might drop a little during idle but not more than 1-2 degrees. My dragon orb has an aluminum base and is made for a 1.5ghz+ athlon xp so i wouldnt think that its my heatsink. When mounting my cpu i got a tiny bit of thermal paste on the chips around the processor, i herd this can cause it to overheat so i made sure i cleaned it off completely

its your heatsink.. but you should look into getting some quiet 92mm fans for intake and exhaust... read the review on heatsinks on the home page...

What new heatsink should i buy that will be somewhat quiet but keep my cpu cool enough to stay at 266fsb

i have an intake airflow at the front of my comp and then exhaust in the back... should i add another mod fan on the case side?

a glaciar i think their still on clearance for $20 quiet and keeps my duron at 37C full load with case side off but its soo quiet you dont' have to worry about noise.. now on my other rig i have a sk6 with a 80mm fan slapped on their that isn't loud either.. but cost alittle more

My ducts:
1. T-Bird: 2 80mm fans sticked together w/ a adapter to 80mm and the 80mm duct get narrowed to 65mm & goes straight to the CPU HSF. keeps 5 C° off my T-Bird.
2. Duron: 1 80mm fan w/ a duct that gets narrowed to about 62mm and blows on the CPUs HSF keeps extra 4C° off my Duron.
If u keep ur case side closed then u will have to mod the side , make a hole in it.

Do u mean Millenium Glaciator by glaciar?
If so u now can get the Glaciator II or its light brother G-Lite that has almost same performance is same desizn but its all aluminum, and about 3 times lighter in wheight than the Glaciator II.

From personal experiences, thermaltakes *orbs are pathetic at cooling.
The hsf's they produce are more showy then useful.
