I picked it up today, just finished installing... going to try it out right now. Played the demo, thought it was cool, got that old D2 feeling. Hopefully it can live up to the hype!

The demo was ok. I kind of like having more colors in my game but I also thought the gameplay was a little bland. It felt like I was playing an average fps with the marksman and an average hack and slash with the swordsman.

It's a cool game but not $50 cool at the moment, I might pick it up when the price falls down. Nov is going to be a crazy month for games coming out, typical holiday rush.

I was in the beta and had a collectors edition reserved :) Just installed the game an hour ago. And now the server is down :(

My in-game tag is Krogen. Add me to your buddy list :)

Why cant i get into there website or there game servers? You guys having this problem? Maybe they crashed or something....

When they coming back up! I finished all my homework for nothing!!! CHEAP!!!

Yeah man I haven't even gotten in yet! Dude! Their website is even down! Though I did read that since their subscription service is down (the $10 a month fee system), that the Halloween event and all the goodies would be for everyone.

As for the $10/month fee, I will decide in a month or two when and if I will be doing that. I see no need to make my decision today. I was a huge Diablo 2 nut and $10/month aint that much money, we shall see...

Bring them servers up I say!!

That's unfortunate. I decided against reinstalling the beta because their servers were down every time I tried to play it. So I never even got to play. I figured it was forshadowing something stupid. Now I know I was right :)

Mind you the Bioshock servers were down... for like 20 minutes.

But Bioshock was WONDERFUL. :)

It is down right now because they are adding the sub content to non-subs... hopefully up soon...

Did it come out this week? I was planning on buying it, but in light of some of the reviews I'm not sure if this poor college kid can fit it into the budget. I did love d2 though, so I'll prolly end up getting it

I recieved an offer to beta test the game via nVidia's SLI club. I downloaded the game to my desktop, installed it a day later and now I can't create an account to test the game with...

I'd be playing now if I could get in. :(

Picked it up yesterday and was playing last night. I played the beta/demo and it was good for what it was (unpolished) but it still feels like the game got a bit rushed out the door. Not sure if anyone has found some of the glitches but as a games industry person I like to wander and have stumbled across a few bugs like ending up at the very edge of the world where the environment meets the cube map and you're staring at a very long fall to who knows where :) Engineer's still busted as well so I started a Hunter instead.

IGN is m0bus if anyone wants to join up.

p.s. for the people talking about the 10 bucks, you can get by just the same playing with a free account... subscription isn't really a must-have unless you're a few fries short of a happy meal and want to throw money away.

yeah the demo was ok, but lacked a lot, its very repetitive... thus boring to me,

Bah, just like D2. Confusing as hell too. I was preparing myself for some serious single person/multiplayer shooting mayhem. So much for that  At least i can look forward to Crysis.

What's the point of the subscription then? I wouldn't pay for hardcore only because I would never play hardcore.

Elite is just a higher difficulty like in D2 you had normal, nightmare and hell.

Subscribers get some extra perks; including but not limited to:

-Extra storage space in locker.
-Event and other extra content
-Guild creation capability
-24 Character slots, not just 3.
-More weapons, monsters etc when they start expanding the game or adding on stuff

I am sure there is some more I am missing. I am taking the wait and see aproach to subscribing though.

You guys think this game is worth buying?

I need something that I can waste my time on these days :) It's gotta be somewhat fun though!

My only beef is its getting a bit redundant. The levels at least. All the different mods and customizations you can do help that. But its a bit tedious to level. On a positive note they throw in some really fun side missions. There is one where you have to play it like an RTS, helping guide some men to complete their objectives.

Well I just picked it up as I was bored and looking for something other than a shooter to play. The install takes forever. I liked the demo and loved D2 so I hope this will be good. I need a shooter break before Monday when COD4 comes out, there there is Crysis, UT3 etc.

Preordered and played the beta. Got to max level on a couple characters (lvl 22 at the time). Was not impressed. Class balance was horrible. There was maybe 4 level varieties, and class gameplay was very boring and uninspired. I played Summoner to 22 a couple times using a demon (tank demon, you deeps) and an elemental (you tank elementals deeps) build. Both involved me spamming my summon or taunt key and holding down the mouse fire button until everything died.

On the templar and hunter classes it was even worse. I used no skills on my marksmen, rapid fire, one of his skills actually was worse than auto attack. It made you unable to hit anything. The blademaster did nothing but auto attack and spam pots. He had maybe four skills worth getting.

I could rant for quite awhile on this game. But, the changes I saw in beta were not what I thought it needed. They were busy tuning things like subscirber content and making number changes to abilities. This might not sound bad, but when you couldn't even load into the public areas for a week at a time and the skills needed total redesign, you could see the problem.

I might look back into it in a year if its still alive and see if they have righted, what I thought would be my go to game for the next six months.

Not sure if anyone has seen this but Hellgate includes adware. In-game advertisements (http://www.warcry.com/news/view/78147-Report-Hellgate-London-Includes-Adware) are in the game, which may not sound so bad but also in the EULA EA has the right to store all information including ip, pc, amount of time played and anything else it may track and share that info. I'm not sure if this applies to just the demo or retail also (I would assume both since it was found in the demo).

I personally love the game. I am addicted to it. It is somthing that doesn't require a lot of thought which lets me relax. I think the quests are fun and the stroy is good, trippy at times but good. I was quick to judge this game. I will say the demo did it no justice. I was sceptical about the demo but I went ahead and bought it and I really like it. I played non stop yesterday.

Is there any way to get this thing to run without meeting the minimum system requirements? It pops up a box that says "Minimum system requirements not met" when I try to play.

Service Pack 2 for x64 edition adds no functionality and causes problems. I don't want to install it, but apparently I can't play hellgate without it.

Yeah I cant get it to work on my laptop because I only have SP1, SP2 screws me up because it forces me to use Microsofts Bluetooth stack which I do not want to because it sux. But anyway I have been enjoying the game all weekend. I have a Marksman at lvl 18. It is true about the skills, I have not put 1 point into any skills yet. Nothing on the skill tree has inspired me at all. But I do enjoy playing and the loot and modding weapons aspect of it. Hopefully they will do something with the skill tree for marksman and other classes though.

Its just marketing... its not harmful to your computer. Just like TV or Radio ratings they want to know when and how long you tune in so they can figure out how to advertise to you. I think people make to big a deal out of it. Its not malicious.

You're correct in that it isn't malicious, however I know of a few individuals that would be very offended of this and a few that even had canceled their pre-order just because of it. It didn't stop me from purchasing but I thought it might be nice to throw it out there.

There are groups out there fighting to create a DO NOT TRACK list for the internet, to stop such things.

I played through the demo today and was not impressed. There really wasn't anything special about it. Keep in mind that I am not a big fan of these types of rpg. To me they all seem a like if you've played one you've played them all. I just really did not see anything new about this that would make me want to spend money on the game when there are so many other games like crysis and cod4 coming out soon.

On another note I really wish that we could get some good turn based rpgs. I really enjoy having to think through your attacks and having the game based more on the story then on pushing a button as many times as you can.

i was So hyped for this gamne, but looking at reviews... frankly, looks like crap, looks like it will play like crap.... this was supposed to be the next d3 in a sense, but it looks more like a bad revamp of painkiller.

havent checked the forums for awhile cuz of classes, halloween, and this game. Currently playing a lvl 25 guardian named BossBorot send me a pm if you need some help.

so far the actual game play is fun with how i have my character set up but there are way to many bugs even for a new game. When I used sword/shield the game was to slow paced and the repetative enviornments where getting to me, however now i play with a unique aoe gun and a sword. The gameplay is much faster this way and without a shield the game is also much harder but overall the game is much funner for me now then it was at lower lvls.

overall the game definately has potential but in its current state it looks more like a beta that needs major tweeking then an actual d2 replacement for me.

I've gotten to level 20 and I would agree that this game is pretty bad. It's nothing like Diablo II, so far I see no independent design for base camps or separation of acts which is something terribly missed. All of the towns and dungeons are painfully repetative, the same goes for the monsters and objective. I don't think this game was ready to ship at all and that is a huge disappointment.
