Hey All,

I been reading a lot of threads on water pumps and I notice that most people use either Eheim or Danner. Does anyone here use the Maxi Jet 1200? This pump can be in the water or in-line and it is really really small. It is rated at 295gph. I am not sure what height is rated at. It's made in Italy and look to be very well made and only cost about $22 from Petsmart.com. If anyone uses this can you please tell me the goods and bads about it.

Thanks:beer:

My maxi-jet 1200 has been great from the day I started using it, about 4 months ago. I don't know how much lift the pump has but it still pushes quite a bit of water through my DD cube and Maze 2. I am using a reservoir but if you want to use it as an inline pump you will have to put some sealent around the main seal. If you dont seal it off you will slowly git minute bits of air in your system. The pump is very well made and from what I hear it is incredibly reliable. For around $20 you cant go wrong.

That sweet 1400 @ 1700. Are you just using straight water cool? Or with a peltier? What kind of temp are you getting from your setup? I just got the maxi jet and I was thinking of returning it since no one else seem to use it. But the price of one Eheim, you can almost buy three maxi jet. One question how did you seal up the main seal?

Thanks

I have been using MaxiJet 750 for about a month now. Documentation with it says not to store it below 0C. Its been working for a week submerged in coolant at well below that and currently @ -20C. Nice quiet pump, and is barely audible inside the fridge.

I have a Danner 250. I was looking into the Maxijet pumps cause the Danner is so large. It litterally takes up the space of 3 hardrives. I've mounted it in a 3-drive cage before, and a fitting hung out of the bottom. That makes case layout a pain in a mid-tower. (even in my huge yy-cube where it now resides)

Honestly, if it pumps that many gph, is that small, and is quiet to boot?....keep it.

I am using straight water. My temps after some fiddling are down to 44c under full load. Thats simply amazing since the athlon is at 2.25v. I didn't seal the pump, I used a 4x4x4 electrical box and made a reservoir. I know some people do use these pumps inline but I'm not shure waht kind of sealent they use.
