Duke Nukem Forever is the biggest joke in the history of PC Gaming. I don't think it'll ever see release. The management behind the project need to work at McDonald's because they sure as hell don't deserve to have the jobs they have.

I've been following the project pretty much since Veloxi and Schilinger started it ten years ago, but those guys disappeared from the project years ago and the whole project seems to have been pretty stagnant for the past couple of years.

I hope it sees completion because the stuff they've completed so far was quite good, the tech demo and music was good, and the storyline they've created seems to follow up on the events of SF2 faithfully. If they were to charge money for the game I imagine it would've been completed already but AFAIK the project has remained faithful to their original intentions of releasing the game as a free download.

As for Dn3, it will come out within the next 2-3 year or it never will, their main problem is management, just not working at all, second to damn slow in the development department, by the time they get some place with it, they need to do it over due to new technology "DX & game engines" at the time it was to be developed in the Unreal engine... as we know UE3 is out for awhile now..... as for the physics they started off with the Karma physics engine with one designed by Meqon.. now we have many more popular ones being havok and physx "need actual hardware so its out of the question".

I've been following it for years.

The forums are mostly trolls now, the only decent playerbase still active in the development is in the irc on stratics - #darkfall.

I'm a frequent there.

Where do they get the money to exist without any products? It's just like those guys on The Office.

Residuals from Duke Nukem and producing other titles (Max Payne, Prey, etc.). More importantly, they're getting large advances from their publisher, and bonuses for making milestones. However, that money comes out of their take of the eventual sales.

Word from the seedy underbelly of the game development world is that if 3D Realms don't make a 2007 release date for DN3D, then they'll lose a very significant portion of their cut of eventual sales. Oh, and the development funding spigot will be turned off, though they funded development on their own for a long time anyway.

3D Realms was a great company in the shareware heyday, but they haven't been able to hack it in the professional, high-stakes world that game development has been for the past decade. High turnover rates, mismanagement and money flushed down the toilet with three game engine changes (costing millions of dollars alone in just licensing fees) make this one of the most mismanaged software projects of all time.

They should just make a Duke on the Crytek 2 engine like MWLL. I miss Duke. Some of the best online play I've had in my life aside from the original Blood. I remember running out into the courtyard after my cousin, trying to find him. I start shooting everywhere and looking around. Then I see him way up on a ledge watching me. I look down on the ground, and there are hand grenades EVERYWHERE around me. Then I hear "beep". BOOM!!!

i just have to say that STALKER is the worst game i ever bought, you get thrown into the game without any idea of what to do,no tutorial or anything so i was stuck at the first level and left it there...most overhyped and delayed game ever IMHO
