So I have this itch for doing a loop in a small form factor case that just has to be scratched. While browsing for pumps, I came across this:

MagicoolPump.jpg

This is probably the cheapest DC pump out there. According to the performance-pcs spec sheet, it pushes 210 LPH which is really weak but little other info is out there. The reason I am interested, other than its price point, is that the loop I am planning will probably only be about ~3 feet..maybe 4 feet tops. I also plan to use 3/8'' ID tubing so the pre-fitted 3/8'' barbs aren't an issue for me.

Just wondering if anyone used or have any info concerning Magicool products. Google turns up pretty much nothing. There are 0 reviews on this pump. I don't have $35 to waste on a potentially complete POS pump so just trying to gather any info I can.

Thanks.

I have actually watercooled a SSF PC. This is the pump I used:

Well actually, I used a previous model of the pump, but this one is the new and improved model. It has a pretty good head rating, and a flow rating of 500 LPH (although that particular spec is of limited use in watercooling.) It is more expensive, but I think it would be money well spent.

What case are you planning on using?

Interesting pump, too bad it is out of stock.

I am planning to do a loop in the Qpack Apevia case. Trying to think of a good way to mount the radiator.

Looks like a doable case to me- I did mine in an Antec Aria. I could only fit a 80mm rad in there but it was only for the CPU and that was a p4 so I didn't need big time cooling. Unfortunately, my project was a disaster, but you are probably much better at this crap than I :)

The pump is simply not the place to go cheap. Get an MCP350 (http://www.crazypc.com/products/9335.html) for $65 + shipping and be done with it, especially given that you are looking to go with SFF.

Your pump is the heart of your watercooling loop and if it doesn't work you are "dead in the water".

Yeah I totally understand that. I never heard of Magicool though and was just wondering if anyone had insight on their products. I might just pick this up to see how it runs but if it turns out to be useless I'll be pretty mad. Must contemplate more....
