Second 8800GT a dud

Well got my second 8800GT and it's one of those cards that doesn't work, the monitor light just sits and blinks.

My system does go into Windows however.

I have read of a few other having the same problem.

I put my other 8800GT back in and everything is fine.

Links? It sounds like it's just a bad/DOA card. There are no complex issues to discuss or theorize about regarding this "problem." ;)

Simply return it. Get one that works. Problem solved.

Did you try re-seating the card? How about using the other DVI plug?

Can you tell that it's booting to Windows b/c you can hear the Windows boot jingle?

Both eVGA Superclocked one from NCIX and the other from newegg, they couldn't have been returns they were bought the first day they came out.

Tried a few DVI plugs and numerous re-seats and reboots. Yup sound plays at XP startup.

I am sure it is just DOA but thought I would ask anyway.

If I were you I'd call eVGA and see if they can help. If they can't they'll issue you an RMA.

2nd time I heard this now. Yesterday I was hearing something like 13-13.5% of 8800GT's where DOA. But this is the first person I ran across on 3 different boards.

Defiantly talk to EVGA and ask for a replacement.
