Hi, i usually hang out at madonion, but i figured it would be best to ask the masters about my watercooling system. I'm using a lian li pc-60 right now, so space is a bit tight, so please keep that in mind when reccomending parts. For a rad, i was thinking of getting the black ice x-treme with an mid 80's cfm panaflo 120mm fan (sorry, don't remember the exact amount), for a pump, i was thinking the overclockershideout.com pump/resovoar. It's a bit pricy, but appears decent. For a waterblock, i was either thinking of picking up a dangerden maze 2 or a z-4 from overclockershideout.com. If any of you have used these products, or can reccomend something else, your imput is apreacated.
Thanks in advance
Welcome Ebonyks.
Looks like you're cooking up a top notch system.
The pump seems a little weak, but I think the black ice x-treme and the dangerden block will make up for the lower waterflow.
Most people I've seen here use 250+ gph pumps, including myself. However, your's is a pretty easy system to fit inside the box you chose.
One tip, pick up a bottle of Water Wetter when you order, the reservior is anodized inside, but just incase. Use it in combination with Distilled water only, and it should be just fine.
Arctic Silver 2 or Arctic Alumina helps too, don't be left without some quality thermal transfer...it kinda takes the point out of that purty gear you're getting. :)

Thanks for the reply, i was thinking about getting the double pump for 20$ more, that seem worthwhile to you? also, The iceflow looks tempting, have you heard much about it?
Nah, With that black ice x-treme, it should still work fine. Double pumps would double the pain in ***.
All I've seen of the IceFlo is the pictures they have on their page. I haven't seen anyone test it out yet.

Hello :)
The choice of parts would have to be Ehiem and the Black Ice Extreme at the moment. Definitely make your system half inch if you plan on overclocking heavily.
With waterblocks, its all relative.

This is the waterblock of choice in australia (and is sold out :o), half inch barbs/waterchannel, uses the standard AMD mounts outside the Zif socket, and has a stylish nickel plated exterior. If that aint attractive enough, the price is roughly 52 USD :)
Cheers
Yeah, I've seen those blocks....the matte black one looks SO NICE.
I've also heard they're holding up very well indeed in testing.

Yes, thats correct. In a review, dan pited the Cyclone II against the DangerDen 2.2 model, the Cyclone II came out slightly ahead of the DangerDen model. What makes it so attractive is the performance vs. cost issue. The Cyclone in your dollar value is simply 52 USD, the 2.2 DangerDen model is 93 USD over here.
You can guess which one we'd pick

how much can i expect a resovoar to lower temps? and the double pumps are built in to the resovoar, so i don't think it would be too much of a headache. which pump spefically do you reccomend?

also, due to an sk-6 which i previously owned, one of my zif socket clips is broken, so i couldn't use a cyclone 2

you will be able to use the cyclone 2.
go for a ehiem, a danger den block and the black ice
The Cyclone 2 uses the four bolt holes around the socket, and not the socket's lugs.

ok, i misread that. What specific pump model do you reccomend?, i plan on eventually adding pelts to this system btw

Also, where do you reccomend buying this stuff from? also, i would edit my post, but it's not letting me for some reason
If you are planning on running a peltier on this some time in the future, I'd suggest the Eheim, from www.casetec.com , or the Danner or MaxiJet pumps from www.petsmart.com/fish/shopping/water%5Fpumps/psearch.shtml
I've bought from both places, and both do well.
Keep in mind that these don't come with a reservior. If you intended to use one, you may fabricate your own. After getting your other parts, you'll have to see what would work best for placement in your system.

OK, thanks alot for your help so far, i may just use a cooler for a resovoar and never bring the thing to lan parties, make transporting easier. Are resovoars even nessary? how much will they lower my temps?
No, reserviors aren't really necessary. You can run just fine with a closed loop system and expect good temps with it.
Alot of people just prefer the reservior approach because it can be a pain to get all the air bubles worked out of the system.
You don't have to give up and go with a cooler, there are lots of ways to do it without sacrificing much room.
I'll do some searching, and post back here with some links.

www.overclockers.com/tips719/ compact reservior of pvc
www.overclockers.com/tips505/ homemade reservior-project box/sub pump
www.overclockers.com/tips191/ reservior-less, air bleeding "T" inline
These are examples of systems you could adapt for your case.
You can fit the black ice on the front lower fans. Two use small pumps and get good temps.
Don't give in...get thinking!
