Thanks, Bing, for the heads up!

Just downloaded it and will install it later.

I don't know if you saw this thread I posted here:

http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=534810

I know you don't have Vista, let alone 64 bit, but I hope someone in the know can shed some light on the mystery: the install of Vista(32 and 64 bit) won't proceed the first time, but on the second attempt, no problem!

Update on my Matrix: I have just loaded Vista Ultimate 64 bit on my setup. This time, I created an 80GB Raid 0 instead of the 90 GB that I tried the first time. Did not do any benchmarking this time around. But system w/ the Matrix Raid 0 is noticeably more responsive than one w/o the Matrix Raid 0!

Thanks very much again for the wonderful idea you have seeded there in that gigantic thread! :D

Also, I have backed up my OS installs(Vista 64 bit and 32 bit) with DriveImage XML. With Vista 64 bit, I simply used the BartPE bootdisk with the DiX plugin embedded. So far, I have created two backup jobs this way. No problem experienced!

I shouldn't think the restore of the backed up images will be any problem!

Thanks!

NP, and yes I saw your thread there too.

The only possibility that I could think of is update the mobo to latest bios and also when installing the Vista, don't use the built-in driver, if I'm not mistaken, Intel was rushing the Matrix Driver when MS was going to release the final Vista, could be that driver still has some bugs in there.

Use the latest one from that Intel site above, download the Floppy installation and put them in USB thumb drive. When it comes to os install, skip the built in OS driver and use the one in the thumb drive.

Thanks for the reply, Bing!:)

I am really enjoying the Matrix Raid a lot!!!:beer::beer:

Using the floppy driver on a USB thumb drive is a good suggestion. If I have to do a fresh install of Vista(64 or 32) again, will definitely try that.

However, my mobo's BIOS is the latest official version--503. There are two beta BIOS's for my board. Them being beta, I really don't want to try my luck with them! :D

Thanks again for all the help and info!

Learned a lot from you from this Tont0!
