I threw together a new idea for a bong (slightly dual bong, but part of the same immeadiate circuit. What's everyone predict for success on it? Acrylic is expensive, hate to build it and find out it's crap and have to toss the whole project.

Hey Sparticus51.
Looks pretty cool, just got one question. If 1 fan is blowing in, and 1 out on each side, what's to stop the air from just recirculating 2 to 3 inces from the fans? I'm thinking you may need one in back and one in front on each, so the air travels the full distance of the waterfall.
Also, don't go overboard on the holes in the tubing, do the math and experiment to get the hole size and count correct.
Should look way sweet with the DyeLite and stuff!
*edit* I see, you were still posting while I was writing...kewl
Now I've got a suggestion. You may not want to pump through the first sprinkler bar to the second. Your water level may drop in the bottom of the second one, letting your pump suck air. You'll want to pump to both at the same time with a 't' at the pump.
A 'y' splitter would be better still.

Wouldn't this design make it dificult to access the inside of the computer? This is the design I was going to use in my case. It would have a fold out motherboard tray for access to drives/cards, and the cooling tower would go about halfway back (the other half would be for the power supply for my peltiers).

I am going to do that same design sense I need a way to transport the computer to lan:)
good idea

That's just a rough sketch, of an idea for it. If anyone has any suggestions, they would be appreciated.

True enough, less access, but hey, how often do any of us go in our cases???
Could always pull the comp. when maint. was required.
I just like the look of having it on both sides, also gives me more fans. Just think, 8 fans on that thing. :D
And hey, talk about easy transportation to a LAN party...Build in a remote control unit of some sort and fly it to the party...

I would think it would almost be imposible to do both bongs unless you have two pumps
Looks good to me, the resevoirs would have to be tied back together with a line at the base to the pump, similar to the infeed. Pretty much like a dual bong with the added benefit of being on the case (easier to move), more volume (evap needs this) and would look pretty cool. Should perform fairly well.
BTW, extremely small (hair size) drill bits should be available at the local hobby shop.

how do you open the case with 2

obviously more than you do...
just wait and see, youll be all done, then forget you left a coke in there:D
If the inlet and outlet were at the back of each bong, the sides could be hinged to open just like the doors on my cube. (allowing for slack in the tubing)
It's a rough idea, and we're suggesting stuff to look for, right?:)
I say go for it! It's a highly origional case design, which is awfully hard to find these days. Most seem to be the same chassis, with different plastic facia's. And I for one, root for the guy who steps outside his box and makes his own...Woot!

Thanks Diggrr.
I'm trying to go as original as possible. Guidance counselor may have found me a grant... one of the qualifications for it though is that the porject, even if it is not a new wheel, must be one that spins better and is at most derivative of previously done things, no repeats. Wouldn't it be nice to have a lexon case with a full watercooling setup paid or by someone else?
(This means I have to make my own block as well, a pump I'm not sure about, will be buying one regardless. May by myself a good one and a cheapy, tear them both apart, learn what's all going on and try to make my own then.)

Never a coke... did have a party once though, came into my room and people were at my computer and my side panel was off (was sarcastic on the last quote, my case is almost always open) figured I'd better put it back on. When I opened it back up I was wishing I had a vapochill system... the bud light that had been left in there was warm. :(
Whew, at least you said Bud Lite, I'd have had to cry if you said Guiness.
