Beeping noise

Hey, so i just got my 8800gt and i installed it. But all i get is a LOUD beeping/screeching noise! Is that saying i dont have enough power to run it?

I have a 175psu laying around should i hook up my GPU to that?

Could also mean you forgot to plug in the 6 pin connector to the gpu. The beeping generally means low power, whether forgetting the 6pin connector or from overall low power can cause this.

yeah the 6 pin was plugged in and i plugged in the 2 four pin connectors from that.. It comes with an adapter.. But I would put just the GPU in the PCI and it my computer would start, but BEEP at a high pitch. And then when i plugged the 6 pin adapter in my computer wouldnt even start.

Start disconnecting your DVD/CD drives and extra HD's. Just power up your mobo/cpu/mem/vid card. See if it starts.

Yeah, the hideous scream is usually the computer's way of saying you forgot to plug a powercord in somewhere. There's the videocard plugs, the drives, the big mobo plug, the small 4 or 8 pin mobo plug, and make sure anything plugged into the mobo is on the right spot.
