well i searched the internet for a place that i thought would be most helpful, and here is where i landed. :)
i just recently picked up a Gainward G2 ti 450 golden sample, so of course right away i go for the 3dmark 2000 to pit it up against my previous card and system and it was disapointing to say the least, here is the comparison old to new -
1024*768*16
NVIDIA GeForce DDR
Intel Pentium III 800MHz - 5660
1024*768*16
Generic VGA
Intel Pentium 4 1500MHz - 5676
the p3 was running pc133. the p4 pc100 - the pc133 died on me-
and is it normal for 3dmark to see my graphics chipset as Generic VGA? here's a copy and paste,
Project Name My Project
CPU Intel Pentium 4 1500 Mhz
3D Accelerator NVIDIA GeForce2 Ti
Graphics Chipset Generic VGA
generic? is that normal? and..... if i choose the Matching your current project (exact CPU speed) option, 3dmark keeps referring to my old card - tnt2 m64- not the g2 ti. the tnt2 and drivers were uninstalled. so, could someone clue me in.
thx PF
