IE 6 scrolling

Howdy everybody,
WTF is this with the scroll wheel? Every time I scroll up after looking at the bottom of a web page, instead of scrolling back up, it acts like the back button.
This is very frustrating. Is there a way to turn this annoying "feature" off?
If I want to go back to the page just visited, I know where the backspace, and back button are...don't need no stupid mouse to go back for me..I can do it myself. :bang head

it sounds more like a mouse software/config problem than something in IE6 only . Did you install mouse software?
What mouse specifically?

Howdy, no mouse software, and it is a GE optical mouse.97986 rev. 3
Maybe I should poke around the KB to see if anybody else has this mouse and prob.
I forgot to mention that I'm using XP home (for now).
