Hello everyone.

So, my main rig: Vista 32, is losing the internet connection completly at the end of each work unit, when it's time to send in the information. I have to restart to get the connection back. As long as I restart the machine at the completion of each work unit, I have a workaround.

The OneCare firewall states Folding@home has permissions... but I think it's probably not the firewall since my XP machine uses the same anti-virus/firewall, and doesn't suffer from this problem at all.

The Rig's in the Sig.

Anyone else see this behavior with the GUI version of F@H?

Sorry. I don't run the GUI version.

I think the problem can be summarized as such... "Vista & GUI Client".

Switch over to a standard 5.04 console client or, more preferably, the Windows SMP 5.91 beta. I think your problems will cease and desist. You should really be running SMP anyway with that E6700. ;)

Confession Time: I HATE the SMP Beta. Until they produce a version with less bugs than an entymology textbook, I'm reluctant to try it again (for the third time.) Actually, come to think of it, I've also tried and had to uninstall the gui beta too. (it worked, but heated the card to 84c.)

But thanks anyway. I appreciate that the GUI is extremely unpopular here. I think this problem started with a Vista update. A future update might fix it.

:beer:Well, did you create a help thread here asking for help about the SMP?

I currently have the SMP running on two machines (desktop/laptop) with no issues and I would be willing to help you get it working either privately or through a thread here on the forums ;)
