The Yorkfield silicon is absolutely marvelous guys. I cannot wait to get my hands on a Yorkfield. To achieve that overclock they used a mild midrange water cooling setup (nautilus). Mobo: Gigabyte DQ6 with F6b Bios
4.51 Ghz @ 1.48vcore
I think with a slightly better water cooling setup and some help from the man upstairs, 4.4 to 4.5 GHz may be stable for this QX as they were fully stable at 4.4 GHz in the article but only OS stable (no benchmark stability) at 4.51.
Looks like my 6700xe is slated for the classifieds when these become available

A $1500 CPU better wake me up and make my morning coffee too! - plus other various household chores :p XE's are always sweet cores, nice to see Intel's new process is continuing to push things, more clockspeed never hurts :)

Nautilus isnt even that great of a WC setup. I would almost bet top-end air could match it.
Great overclocks on these Yorkfields though!! Mine should be here in a few days. :D

From what I have read, 3.7Ghz-3.8GHz on stock volts is doable.
Cant wait to see how you do.

Grrr I just get my GO Q6600 what a month ago, and I am barely humming along at 3150MHZ, grrrr. Oh well its still smoking fast:)
Holy hell, with that thing at 4GHz with DDR3-1800(CL7) and 1600 FSB in the X38 or X48 mainboard you can get an insane amount of performnce.
Sadly I'm not going to allow myself to pay more then $2500 for a new computer, so that's out of question unless DDR3 finally gets dropped to a reasonable price.
I guess it's the fastest non-Extreme(price jack) C2Q for me.
I wonder how fast that thing can go for 1 month under load.
