The reason I ask this is that I see alot of people lately haveing issues with these stix. Should I get http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80061-9 can't beat that price, that's why I'm asking. I just don't want a high risk being without a computer for a while, a small risk maybe would be ok.

It's $20 cheaper at Buy.com

http://www.buy.com/prod/crucial-ballistix-2gb-2-x-1gb-pc2-6400-800mhz-240-pin-ddr2-memory/q/loc/101/202541818.html

I would say that yes, it's worth it. I haven't had any problems with my Ballistix sets. I think the majority of problems stem from people pumping more than 2.2V through their memory, the D9 chips are sensitive to voltage. It's definitely recommend to put a fan over these sticks, since they run hot. Lifetime warranty through Crucial if there is ever a problem.

Worth it for the price. I paid nearly $300 for mine a little less than a year ago. :bang head

No, the original sticks died months ago. This is my 2nd RMA now. I think that set lasted longer because I had an 80mm fan blowing over them the whole time. Hopefully this 3rd set lasts me until I hop onto the DDR3 wagon.

Is that just bad luck, or do all of them have this problem?

Unfortunately it seems to be a trend with a lot of D9GMH. The RMA process is so painless with Crucial that I don't even mind doing it.

What voltage were you running them at inkfx? Did you take them over 2.2V?

The first sticks never saw over 2.3v. The second set I took up to 2.45v for a short period of time. I even had a 152cfm Delta blowing over them for those benches. Other than that, they ran 2.2v, 400mhz, 4-4-4-8, for the most part. The second set constantly had airflow over them which is what I believe to be the reason as to why they lasted longer than the first set.

1st set - no active cooling, died within ~2 months of owning.
2nd set - constant direct airflow, died after ~9 months of owning.
3rd set - gets shipped from Crucial tomorrow.

My set has performed flawlessly. I've pushed them as far as 577mhz with tight timings and they handled it without a sweat. I'd be willing to bet they could go further. For the price they're unbeatable.

Seconded. I had to RMA a stick wih them once and I would describe their demeanor towards the process as *friendly*.
