First off specs.

Asus P5W DH Deluxe
2x 1024MB Crucial Ballistix Tracer
e6600
8800 GTS
2x Raptors raid0
Win Vista Ultimate
OCZ extreme power 700watt PSU
Liquid cooled CPU

I been running rock solid with my overclock of the e6600 (stock 2.4ghz) at 3.4ghz for maybe 6 months or more now. I have my memory at 5-5-5-15 and temps at full load are just over 40c if that and idle around 22c

Multiplier is x9 with a bus speed of 377. FSB 1509mhz. Mem freq is at 471mhz and its 4:5 ratio. In the bios i have to run the DRAM Freq at 943mhz. if I goto 1005mhz, which i beleive is a 1:1 ratio it wont post.

Here are my voltage settings:

Mem: 2.25
CPU: 1.5
FSB termination: 1.4
MCH: 1.65
ICH: 1.2
Performan mode: Turbo
PCI locked at 100 / 33.33

ANyone got any idea why it is I have to run this at 4:5? As far as i read in reviews of my memory i should be able to acheive more. as in this link (using same mobo and memory as I am):

a 1:1 ratio would put your ram at 377x2=754. it sounds like you upped the dram ratio or did you up the fsb? if you upped the FSB the cpu prolly cant take it,drop the multi of the cpu down and up the fsb...

Thats right, you're running an up-divider already. 1005MHz would be 2:3 at this FSB, evil is right, you'd be better off running on the 8 multi.

Hey guys thanks for the input. I tires some stuff but nothing worked. I lowered the multi to 8 with a 425fsb. Wouldn't even post like before. Obviously you guys see what i am trying to do. Keep my rig at 3.4ghz with better memory bandwith. With a multi of 8 and a 425fsb I tried multiple different timings and with turbo on/off, etc. is this my memory hindering more memory bandwith? If thats the case I can get some crucial ballistix pc8500 2x1024 for real cheap. or is it just a matter of tweaking something??

Let me know. Thanks!
