wildone and i have been goin over why i am getting such low scores on my benchmarking. I have a GainWard GF3 Ti200 running Win2k. My mobo is an EPOX 8K7A. I am currently averaging 5999 with the clock set to 200/444 on the vid card. here is what we tried:

set mem timings to: 8-8-8-2-2-2-2
set fsb to: 140MHZ
updated VIA drivers
turned off the dreaded Vsync
along w/other minor tweaks

basically, my scores should be higher, as everyone tells me...i'm stuck...anyone w/this mobo havin probs? anyone w/gainward havin probs? :(:(

I have the same videocard its a golden edition right.. Well i would uses the overclocking devise that is on the cd that came with it that helped me a little but also i have mine running with the normal heatsink and ram sinks at 260/500. could help if U overclock it just a bit more. also what drivers are you using cuz the newest nvidia drivers 21.** most of them are for better looking graphic more then overclocking drivers.. i would go with that best one that works for your card and mobo.. have to just try them out and see... i get a 7000 with vsync on with it off i and some other tweaks i used it gets to 7649 could get higher if i raised my fsb to 150 and 2 2 2 time settings i get 8445 but i am using a asus a7a266 board so go figure..:cool: its a little more stable i think...

3DMark2000 = 10006

i sorta have a similar setup as you do (check new system below) and i get some killa scores (for me anyway, hehe)........try cranking up you card a little more , that made a HUGE difference for me.............

acctually that video card you mention is a little different then the gainward most video card manf. make there card different in some way either faster ram or differenet rendering.. But i do agree with one thing crank it up to get more out of it if cooling is not working for U try to mod a heatsink to go on there or get a watercooler and a 72 or 80 watt pelter and coldplate and your temp on video card should be around 15C then U should be able to get alot more out of it... just one idea..

If your getting a low score it has to be a driver problem U might have too many installed and they might be conflicting with each other. I would say that you should only have one driver installed and one tweak more then one tweak program could also mess it up...

if it is a driver problem, how would i remove all files of nvidia's and just start over?

Try this, go into your mobo bios and turn off all items related to cache. This includes the video and bios cache. After doing this crank up the fsb, 140 is not very much for that mobo. I am using 148 on my kt7a (sdram). Play around with the bios settings and test, test, test. You want the highest possible stable fsb. I would stay away from any second party programs till first the board and then the drivers are maxed out.

After you have the bios tweaked then move the card up. 200 on the GPU seems a little low to me.

Yes i agree you want a stable system before you uses a 2nd party program to tweak..

Did you apply the AGP driver from viahardware.com? It should be applied separately then the 4in1 drivers.
