I think my headphones sound alot better coming out of my xtrememusic when I have the output set to 2\2.1 speaker mode rather than headphone mode. It sounds a lot clearer with more feeling where as headphone mode makes the sound seem muddy with less volume. The only problem is when I have it in speaker mode and run the cmss 3d surround test theres 2 small deaf spots at about 10am and 2pm on the little round test dial thing with the sound of the helicopter going around your head. In headphone mode theres no dead spots in the sound but as I said it sounds dull compared to speaker mode. Does anyone know why headphone mode sounds weaker? Is it just putting out less power? If it's just putting out less power in headphone mode, will an amp fix it? Or is it actually modifying the sound digitally to what it thinks will sound better with phones? Would it maybe be possible to mod the bios to make it put out full power in headphone mode? Hope this makes sense.

CMS3d sounds like crap when you have headphone mode enabled in my opinion. I think that if you use Headphone mode, you should disabled CMS3D. If your headphones already have directional sound it just makes it sound weak and hollow.
