this chip is ( VERY HOT ). i see there is 2 holes on
the board so i'm thinking i can get a heatsink/fan for
it. the thing is i'm not sure what to look for. the board
is a asus p5n-e sli

just find a old computer and grab the heatsink from that and drill some hole in it and slap it on. just make sure it can clear your second pci E slot if you have a card in there.
If you have a few quid to spend and/or your going to be overclocking I would recommend one of either of these which you can always attach a 80mm fan to with small cable ties if necessary.
I had one of each of these on my north bridge and south bridge of my MSI 975X PUE board and running 400fsb ended up having to put a fan on the southbridge cause it was hot to touch.
