How do you insulate pipes

What do you guys use to insulate the pipes, im planning on running long pipes and i was wondering what i can use to wrap around my pipes to prevent them from getting heat from my attic.

Pipe insulation jackets

Polyethylene will probably be the cheapest.

if you're on a tight budget, you can duck tape rags around them, but neoprene pipe insulation jackets (as the Cap'n said) would do a much better job
