I'm torn on buying the best card for performance/price. Please help on a buying decision. The cards I'm looking at right now are:

7900 GT KO 512MB $125
HD 2900 GT $150
HD 3850 $180

Do you think the prices of HD2900 GT or HD3850 will drop at all in the next couple of days?

out of those 3 the 3850 is by far the best one
and no sry the 3850 was just released and is the best card in that price range so i don't see the price dropping anytime soon

the charts on TomsHardware are are good for card to card comparisons with A LOT of games:

although you might have to wait a bit for them to get it updated with the 3xxx series of ATI cards.

All three models aren't listed on that chart, unless you know their equivalences.

here is just 1 review of the 3850 (http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=482) plenty more out there just google them. the 7 series is not included in this review but it won't touch the 3850 anyway

The differences between models like XT and GT are mainly down to clock speed, so a few reviews on that should give you a good idea on their relative difference, then you can relate it back to the chart.

If I go with the HD 3850, which brand should I get? I see HIS, VisionTek and Powercolor have in stock.

Thanks.
