View Full Version : Question for OC out of USA
Can you order the CPUs directly from the host of internet retailers here in the USA?
I would expect that the weak USD is a real plus in building a system. Everything must look so cheap to you.
So are you going for, what must seem el cheapo Penryns or sticking with the ridiculously inexpensive $79 e2160?
What is that in real money? 55 Euros?
I'm not sure what you're trying to ask here. You can order stuff from Newegg.com, and other internet retailers, and yes, it's very cheap in comparison to local stores. I got my Q6600 for $266 (179 EUR) on sale from newegg.com, and my entire system all together only cost me about $1000 (674 EUR). I personally could never deal with an E2160, which is why I got my Q6600, but others who don't need so much power, would. It all depends on what the budget of the customer is.
That's about all I can gather from your post other than your belief that American money is somehow inferior to the Euro.

US dollar might be on the downslide, but at least when it comes to processors, how many European companies are making them?

The strength of the USD doesn't have much to do with CPU prices for those buying in the US because they are always announced in USD pricing.

Not to be rude, but you earn Euros...you buy in Euros...we earn in US$ so we pay US$...that is the way it works unless you have an import permit or do shady black market cross currency trading
