I have 2 lan ports on my pc and want to use one as kind of a router so i can connect it to my ps3 to get internet access on it. Is there a way to do this in vista though?

tried that but no go. I connected my ps3 to my pc using a crossover cable and even tried to load the gateway and dns settings from my isp into the other connection but it still didnt work. Am I missing something here?

id just grab a cheap lil 4 port router rather than deal with windows and ICS.

ICS works fine but you need to let anything connected to the gateway machine use DHCP. ICS really doesn't like it when you try and define your own settings. I use it to share dial-up over wireless at my house (no broadband avail).
ICS should be pretty straightforward. Check the outgoing NIC's IP address and make sure that it's 192.168.0.1. Let the other machines (or the ps3) connect to it, check their network setting and make sure that they have an IP address of >192.168.0.1, a gateway address of 192.168.0.1 and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.
I agree just grab a router and be done...you will be able to add much more to the your home network in the long run....and corrrect me if I"m wrong but if you are Internet Sharing then the computer that has the primary connection must be running at all times right?
