Dunno if anyone else knew of this. I dont know if this is a good thing, or a bad thing. MadCatz was never at the top of my list for game peripherals, but Saitek most definetly was. I just went to the website to check on a new joystick when I say that. Wonder what will happen now.

Just noticed I mis-spelled Saitek in the title :bang head

Oh no another company ruined because of a merger. I love saitek and I have a few of their products.

MadCatz has always made crappy peripherals in my experience (16/32bit console days). And the few Saitek products I've owned (PC side) havent disappointed me.

nooo!

I <3 Saitek. I have my X45 and love it. I had a problem with calibration and I went to the forums to find out they have an entire slew of beta drivers for nearly their whole line up and it works good too.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Saitek's stuff may not have been the BEST quality product out there...but they did their job. And they wouldn't break down within 2 weeks. We have used a few saitek's products before. Most memorable is one of their joysticks. was a pretty good joystick i might add too.

Saitek has been on my "good product" list. Their definitely no logitech, But they arn't Madcatz either.

This sucks. Madcatz has some of the WORST products i'v evern seen. They usually break within a month ( IF you are lucky ), their quite limited on when it comes to extra options/buttons. Their made of cheap-a** material. I'v never seen MadCatz have a product that was original either. Most of their products are just cheap imitations of other products on the market. And i'm not talking just about 1st party products ( aka: Official Nintendo/Microsoft/Sony products ), But imitations of other 3rd party products as well.

Madcats is one of my most hated companies. Their products rate as the WORST products i have ever used. I use MadCatz as my standard for crap products. The reason i use them as a standard, is because they are the BASE LINE CRAPPIEST PRODUCTS. I honestly don't think you can ANY worse than a MadCatz product. Thus...the reason i use them as my baseline for crappiest products ever.

/end F***ing rant!

This is terrible news for Saitek. MadCatz has crappy controllers that always break. I've never seen a broken Saitek controller before.

So are Emerson stereos and Onkyos, but that doesnt mean thier equal in any way.

I always considered Saitek near the top. May not have been the best or #1, but probably the best bang for your buck. Sure there was probably something better, but it would probably cost ya 2x as much as the Saitek, while only being worth (to me) only 1.2x as much as the Saitek, at most. You definetly got your monies worth with the Saitek. But knowing how with companies its always about the profit, I'm sure we'll end up seeing Madcatz clones of Saitek goodies, but with poor quality control and sub-par build quality. I'm talking about using cheap plastics where metal components sould be used, and even cheaper plastics where the original quality plastics were used. :(
