Hi All......New Member here so go easy!!!

Spent the last hour or so tweaking my Q6600, took it to 3Ghz and all seemed well , then took it to 3.6Ghz and so far so good.

Settings were as follows....

On all runs and efforts memory was set at 2.1v and FSB left pretty close to 400, timings were left on auto.

3Ghz FSB 333 9 * Multiplier at 1.3025v Cpu Temp max under load 54.

3.6Ghz FSB 400 9 * Multipier at 1.3725v Cpu Temp max under load 62.

3DMark06 Score 12,826 at 3Ghz

3Dmark06 Score 13,270 at 3.6Ghz

Then I overclocked my graphics card to 650/960 at Cpu of 3.6Ghz and scored 14,001, very happy with results.

Not sure if I can go any further as I do not want to go too hot with Cpu and unsure what safe temperature is?? Same with GPU, not sure what safe temp is as it hit 78 under heavy load.

All comments and help very much appreciated.

use coretemp to get the cpu temps, following coretemp keep your temps at or below 70c. looks like you might be able to hit 3.8ghz depending on the temps you get..

I was using everest for my temperatures but I will give coretemp a try and see how it compares, thanks for the input.

:welcome: mikey!! :D:D

Good first runs!

Don't forget to check out tips in the benchmarking section ;)

that is true but i still prefere to see coretemp used along with/or just by itself...

Agreed, excellent first runs. Can't wait to see what you can push it to, especially since you're @ 3.6 with only 1.3725!

No kidding... I hope you got a mobo and RAM to back the chip up.

Also what card are you using?
