how can i find out what chip my wireless card runs with? like atheros prism, idk if theyre called chips
Some more info would be a start. Is this a notebook? A PCI wireless card for a desktop? A PCMCIA card for a laptop? Details man, details...

integrated notebook wireless, theres no program like cpu-z that displays information of network cards? :-p its a broadcom b/g card, how do i find out what version?
You could try looking up the VID and PID in Device Manager and googling them.

Not sure if the free version reads device information (I know the UEE version which I have does), but have you tried Everest (http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=everesthome)?
