A few days ago, I saw a thread...it was about someones floppy problem...now im having the same problem...but cant find the thread to see the replies...well anyways..YES...I know you have seen like 2 post from me about floppy problems in the recent past, but this is new...I was installing a second HD on my parents old PII 200mhz computer...at first, the computer had 2 probs...as follows...

Hard Disk Failure
Floppy Disk(s) Failure (40)

I fixed the hard disk problem by playing with the jumper on the computer...but..i still have the floppy disk problem...i am able to get onto the computer cuz i went in the BIOS and set the error message to.....Halt on all errors except floppy disk.....i can get into windows, and the floppy drive shows up in my computer, but when i put a disk in, it says...please insert disk into drive A:.....
PLEASE HELP....my parents dont realize that i ****** up there drive, and i wanna fix it without them finding out...thanks everyone...

Was this (http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53034&highlight=floppy+drives) it? If not, try to a search for it in the forum that you saw it in. There is a search tab at the top of the page on the right side. Choose the forum and type what you want to search for. You can also choose the length of time to go back.

have you tried switching the ribbon?

Is the floppy on the end of a 2 connector ribbon? If so it should be the A drive...if it's in the middle, it's the B drive. If it doesn't have 2, it's the B drive.

Set both drives in the bios to active. You'll get an error Floppy Disk Fail on boot up. Also set Boot up Floppy Seek to yes.....

you'll be able to hit F1 to continue to boot. Once you make it to windows, see if you have a floppy drive then.
