Hey everyone,
First off, I want to thank the people who have answered my many questions, you guys have been great, and I have learned alot.
To the topic:
When I decided to install Forceware 163.75 today, I uninstalled my old driver, went into safe mode and used driver cleaner, then rebooted and proceeded to install Forceware 163.75.
While installing the screen goes black then comes back and I can see the progress bar at about 50% which always happens, every driver I have ever installed my screen has gone black. BUT then the screen goes black again and does not come back, the comp is still running, but nothing on my monitor. I wait for about 5 mins, nothing happens, I then hit the windows key followed by "U, and U key" which is a shortcut to shut down the pc without using the mouse. Well anyway I hear the windows music before the pc turns off, which means windows was still functioning, why did my screen go black then? I turn the pc back on and it seems everything is fine, the driver installed itself and I had all the bells and whistles.
Anyone know why this happened?
My thoughts about this,
1. The comp screen maybe goes black twice due to the 2 gpus on my 7950? but if that's the case why does the screen stay black the second time?
2. A member of this forum told me it could be my psu causing this, but I have a 610watt psu from pc power and cooling, so I doubt it. Also if it was the psu, why is windows still running just with no display?
