Thoughts anyone?
There was a Dues Ex 2 :eh?:
Lol I guess it is easy to try and pretend it didn't exist, but it did for better or worse.

I really hope it's a sequel to #1, Deus Ex 2 was a travesty. Lets all hope we get a good plot, 4-8 endings, etc. I'm guessing it will use the UT3 engine, might be a 360/PC release.
I thought 2 wasnt that bad. Granted 1 is king of kings :) Looking forward to this new one, hopefully go back to the feel of the first.

I played Deus Ex 2 and did not like it. Played Deus Ex too young and did not understand it.
...it’s expected that Deus Ex 3 will appear on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3...
I don't hold out much hope for this. Being multiplatform was what ruined the second one.

I played one of the Deus X games when I had my XBOX 1, I enjoyed it :P

And yes, a game that came out 4 years ago was ruined by being multi-platform, on vastly inferior hardware at the time. Yet its gonna happen again isnt?
i guess we will have to see how this ones goes.. .right now all it has going for it is the franchise.

It wasn't the hardware differences that ruined the last one, it was the change in target market. Before it was released there was an interview in PCZone magazine talking about how the new interface made it easier to control. The biomod system was watered down. The weapons made unnecessarily simple, using 1 type of ammo. The inventory having an RPG taking up the same space as a single grenade.
The first Deus Ex game developed for several platforms at once is hideously watered down, so one has to assume that it's because it was developed for another audience. Yes, there was a PS2 version of Deus Ex but that was released around 2 years after the PC one.

But wait, it WAS the hardware, why else did they have to dumb down the entire game? To make it so retarded chimps could play it? I am pretty sure thats not the case, at least I would hope...
Are you saying that decisions to water down the biomod system and make weapons all use one sort of ammo stemmed from inadequate processing power? Or are we at crossed purposes. I think we probably are.

The 2nd Deus Ex was a total bomb, hope it turns out well.
Yeah lets hope they realize the errors of their ways. They did dumb the 2nd one down a lot. They also made each level super small and lots of loading screens for each small area. This was because of the lack of power in the Xbox and PS2 etc. Where the first one had huge levels which was awesome at that time and still is. PLEASE Deux Ex could be an awesome franchise if they kept it like the first one.

Not just processing power, but it was early entry into console market for a PC maker.
Either way, I have been so far impressed with most 360/PC crossover's so far and I doubt this one will flop either, considering that its being made by a totally different team from the second one.

This is good news assuming they don't make it as crappy as Deus Ex 2!

Yes that's something that has surprised me and I don't know why they've been so decent. It seems a fair few of the games that have come out on just PC and 360 have been surprisingly good.

Should be a good game since the first one was very good.

Friends of mine convinced me to try Deus Ex many years ago and I found it enjoyable for a short time until it forced me to make a choice against my better judgment.
I was fully convinced that I was being lied to by the side the game expects the player to think is telling the truth. As far as I was concerned, the side you were supposed to be against (and had no choice but to be against) was right and that sucked all the enjoyment out of the game for me.
I haven't touched the series since.
Would you like to rebel?
>No
Perhaps you'd like to rebel just for fun?
>No
Everyone says you should rebel. Rebel?
>No
You are labeled a rebel and will now be shot at.

I'm sorry. I do not know how to @*&#.

I thought about trying the second one, since I heard the first was so fun and since the second was hyped up the wazoo....it would be cool. But instead...from what I read...it was a steaming pile of poo.
Hey...that rhymes.
Here's a trailer. http://www.gametrailers.com/game/5780.html

I never played the first but heard it was really good. I played the second one to completion and enjoyed it, maybe if I knew how shallow it was compared to the first I wouldn't have liked it as much. At any rate I think it being multi-platform is no indication of it being good or bad. Bioshock was multi-platform too and that game rocked. I'll look forward to this.
I can't wait to see how it turns out.I hope its good.Trouble is that it will be a few years before even a preview is available.Wish they would announce games like a month before release.:santa:
