My computer started chugging really bad last night so I decided to run memtest. So I downloaded the newest memtest and burnt the iso to a cd. I rebooted my computer and let it do it's thing. After it started cycling it went to a half a screen and froze. Is this from bad ram, user error or bugs in the program?

Thanks,
Ryan

I've been hearing a lot of complaints from people trying to use the newest version, perhaps I should test it myself to be certain. Bad ram will show up in memtest when you see red and errors occuring.

Make sure you have USB Legacy support disabled in the BIOS. This will cause the freezing behavior you are describing.

If it isn't that, perhaps it's a BIOS issue, or more importantly a failed component other than RAM (hopefully not the See-Pee-You)

I've tried it on two computers in my house and it's doing the same thing you are describing with teh new test.
