If one has an evga 8800GT SC which has a stock overclock of 650/1620/1900 and one thinks those settings may be fine for the majority if not the entire life of the card, is there a need to have to install RivaTuner? I am aware that the oc stock setting also has a hint of any given further oc headroom left in the binned gpu selected for a /model vid card. I have only used RT for one vid card, and I'm not that famailiar with it. I am just wondering if one could avoid any or all "extra" software installation when choosing a particular make/model of 8800GT 512. The first thing that comes to mind is adjustment of fan speeds, both for temps and noise.
Would it be neccesary to install Forceware, and is that going to be a standard product that would come with any make/model of 8800GT 512 install disk. I am just wondering of the procedure(s) differ based on what you start with and where you are likely going to want to take the core/shader/mem clocks. Especially if you know "where" is going to be pretty close already and you are heat/noise worried.
