i just bought an a7v266-e 1-gig of ddr and replaced the a7v-133-c 512 133sdram i was using. everything went fine till last nite, my kid says she was listning to an mp3 and it just locked up! so i started going through the motions to get it going again and it no longer would boot into XP. i got frustrated and fdisked XP into oblivion and loaded win98-se. all was fine untill loaded the video driver (21.83 Dets) i cannot load the video drivers and load windows! i even tried a creative gf2 anniolator with creatives drivers, no go! ive loaded VIA's 4 in 1 drivers, directx8.1 ive tried everything i can think of perhaps someone in here has seen this before and can help me escape the 640x480 16 color blues?

have you tried swapping the memory back to what it was? or just swapping it with some other sticks?
Me and a friend just spent about 5 hours cursing at a server only to discover that one of the sticks of memory was bad...
good luck
That would be my first thought as well... I would also check the video card, or try different drivers... Possible that the cards on its way out?! Is the rig OC'd? could cause some probs there if the vid cant handle it and its going bad...
just a few thoughts...
