Has anyone had luck with installing the service pack 1 for office XP? I keep getting the "Error 1328" and can not go any further. I did some digging at MS to find an answer but I found no workable solution.
Thanks

Have you found a solution?

I'm not pointing any fingers here, I'd just like to mention that the update does not seem to work with illegitimate versions of the program.
As far as legit things go, I have a totally legit corporate version of the suite, and I also cannot get the update to install. Go figure.

Microsoft has posted a solution to configs that the update gives trouble to. I believe the solution was to do an administrative install point on the hard drive and then run a repair from the command line.
Read about how to do it here (http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/xp/journ/Oxpsp1.htm)
This is a legitimate solution which will also allow you to create a cd with the SP1 already applied and your cdkey pre applied so reinstallation if necessary will be much quicker. (If you have licenses for multiple machines on a network then this is a huge timesaver)
I hope this helps, and there is nothing illegal about it as long as you only make one copy for yourself.
