YES!!, that is barely blowing enough air for a Duron. Stock H/S has more cfm than that.

XP1600 runs cooler than T-Birds, but you might think about an Alpha PAL 8045 or a Glaciator 2 to cool the beast.
something around 30-34cfm should do the trick fan-wise, no need for you to go Delta-shaped just yet.....;)

I also have an XP1600 but mine came with a Coolermaster HCC02 heatsink and 37CFM Delta fan.
With this combo it ran at 34C but it was far too noisy for me, so i bought an 60mm-80mm adapter from http://www.theoverclockingstore.co.uk and put a 29CFM Evercool low-noise fan on it.
It now runs at 39C under load (MPEG2 encoding and games playing) and is a lot quieter as well.

Just to hijack the thread for a wee minute......
Nick - have you used theoverclockingstore much before? What sort of service have you had out of them?

Alasdair - it was my first purchase from them and the service was excellent. I ordered on Friday morning, it was despatched on Friday afternoon and on my desk on Monday (I wasnt at work on Saturday so it may even have arrived by then).
They have a forum page as well and the 'service' topic seems to have mostly good comments and they do respond to the bad ones.

You might wanto read this thread on amdmb.com that I started after similar temps with my MP1800's
"Why the need for sub 50C CPU temps?? (http://www.amdmb.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=600649)
There was quite a lot of discussion and recommendations with the summary being that the system will probably be stable up to 65C...Phil 3D
