Is this the WinSMP client? If so, try rerunning the install.bat as an administrator.

Which WU, which OS (looks like Windows, but which one), which Client (5.91 I assume)?

Win SMP on XP craps out anytime you lose the network connection (ie lose IP address lease and get assigned a new IP address by DHCP). Wireless connections are hell on on WIn SMP on XP.
