View Full Version : Here is what you can expect for temps with a good HS and 1500MHz celery without IHS.

With a ambient temp of 24 deg. C I get 34 deg. C idle and 37 deg. C @ load. 24 deg. C equates into 72 deg. F room temp.
With room temp to 86 deg. F I get load temps of 42 deg. C max. At 100 deg. F I may be pushing it to keep this rig stable but I doubt it!

ambient =
core=cpu
i would appreciate it if you would explain the difference ?

if you don't mind me helping you, lemme say it.
Ambient = Temperature inside the case. Temperature near CPU/HSF is preferred way. But the main thing is, temperature reading inside the case.
CPU temp = u know that already.
Room Temp is not = to Ambient temp. Just to add.. :D

I consider ambient to be room temp. Maybe others don't! Case temps have always stayed pretty close to room temps for me so still I would consider them to be the same in my comparison. I got a large duct blowing all the hot air right out of the case from the cpu as also the vid card. In affect case temps should be close to room temps.

Ol'man, you are different than any others here. I mean you're one of the oc freaks who know what they are doing(which I admire you) those who know how to keep their inside case cool as the room temp, But.. not all others are. Their computer case temp is different than their room temp. That is why Im saying this. The temp readings between Inside the case and outside the case(which is room) are different.
Ofcourse I agree with u.. the thing you said about saying "should keep the temp about the same as room temp. I would say the same thing like u did if I was in the Hardocp forum, not here. Cauze I see a quite of general/novice overclockers here.
Ambient temp in this example is the room temp.
Inside case temps can be measured several ways and can vary quite a bit depending on what part of the case you're measuring the temp, but regardless, it's still not the same as ambient temp.
