The mobo temps you are getting may be erroneous...
I have heard Asus may do that do you...
Although, what HSF do you have, I dont follow your description of a "dr termal fan"...?.

You're fine. I would start worrying if your temps go above 60 degrees.

abb1,you are running just about the same gear as me,what temps are you getting?,i applied sliver pasted and drop 2 deg on the cpu.still not happy,i wanted to get the temp down more before o\c.
My ambient room temperature is 22 degrees, and with that my CPU runs at 48-49 degrees at load with my Sanyo-Denkhi fan on my Swiftech. When I put my Delta fan on it, I get about 44 degrees at load. The Delta fan sounds like a vacuum cleaner, so I dont use it. Under 50 degrees at load is still pretty good for overclocking, and excellent for everyday computing.

I have the same cpu, and an Alpha 8045 with 50cfm. When I first got my heatsink on my temperature was rarely above 40'c, but now on load it stays around 41.5'c... And idel about 40'c... This is with no overclocking. I can run 1680 stable until it overheats, but I need to put more washers on, and lap my heatsink and I should have no problems
Slick.

my temps range from 19c to 21c no higher and no lower, its a regular coolmaster hsf for like a 1.3 and im runnin 800 thunderbird
room temp is around 24c and case ranges from 24-26c
my temps could be rong but when i put my hand over the air thats comming out of the hsf its actually cold! and in myfriends computer i built with a cheaper cooler its hot.

CPU 38 idle 43 load Case Temp 20
Ok heres what i did, cut a blow hole in the top for a nice big 120mm fan, i used a sunon 105cfm. And cut another hole in the right hand side of you case, mine is cheap so its on piece and there was nothing in the way, and ring up a 6" piece of aluminum dryer hose inside the case to make a 90deg corner so the air is pointed at the back of the case. Lift it up abit so it aim at the pci slots, mainly video card, and tape it inplace. Fire it up and watch the temps drop. Will try to post pics, if i can find a camera to borrow.

I believe that's your motherboard temperature.
Your heatsink should be default sucking air onto the heatsink not blowing air out unless you turn the thing around.
Make sure your viewing all sensors since you could be just viewing your first sensor which is your motherboard.
Its physically impossible to get down to 22-24 with your CoolerMaster unless your idle.

nope it blows on it i feel the air comming out of the top after it hits the sink. and only one temp reading works? and i checked the mbm site and it says that that sensor is the one for the cpu

where's a good place to put the diode of my thermometer if i want to record my CPU temp?
i just applied thermal grease......
where exactly? IN the thermal grease?
