Why do I have so many problems with EA Games?

Installed LOTR BFME 2 and the Witch King expansion, did the update and everything but whenever i try to play the stupid thing it gives a Runtime Error saying the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error and something to do with the game.dat file. Is there a fix for this or is my game just F-ed up?

Re-install Visual C++ runtime. Check the game.dat file and reference it with the game.dat file that's on the disk for the game. If they're of different sizes, replace the file or reinstall the game. This could also be a problem brought on by an unstable OC.

Seriously ? so many ? thats only like 1 1/2, maybe its to old haha, it was relased 3 years ago.

my oc's are stable, ran orthos and prime 95 for 24 hours and had the ATI Tool "scan for artifacts" and it had no errors for the 24 hours orthos and prime were going so i think im pretty stable i geuss....ill try reinstalling the C++ and the game. thanks

Have you tried running it in Compatibility mode for Win98?
