More info bout the tornado generator here (http://www.weather-photography.com/Tornado/generator.html)
It might work as long as you don't live in a mobile home. Tornado's always seem to wipe them out!

looks like michael jackson doing a spin move in the xray machine alright! lol!
as far as the tornado thing, looks like it'd work decently so long as the water stayed in it's container and the vortex created didn't affect the drafting of water into the container from the cooling circuit.

At novelty shops they have a thing which I think is called a Tornado Tube which screws on to a 2 liter bottle and makes a nice vortex when you turn it upside down so the water flows out.
I had one a couple of years ago. I seem to recall being able to screw two of the bottles together so it was like a funky hour glass deal with no refilling needed.
Cut the bottom off a 2 liter bottle and make a bracket to hold it in place and it could work for a bong. If you have a monster pump then split the output into two of them.
It could look pretty cool with some creative lighting too.

I thought about this for some time before replying.
I don't think it would cool the water at all.
1. Ultrasonic transducers heat water, I got mine out to prove it. The reservior stays above room temp.
2. A bong really depends on the cool water drops being redeposited in the reservior. Here, they stay suspended until evaporation is complete.
3. The water falling from a showerhead would create a downward air current, killing the tornado effect.
If you would like a vortex however, that's easy to do without a bong. Even with a bong if you use clear tubing. Cascade the water down the sides in a spiral, with the pump intake in the bottom center.
Here's my reservior.
*edit* However it would be a really cool way to snaz up your humidifier.:)
