mouse glitches

I have windows xp, and my mouse often glitches when i open up a program. for example,, if i open up system information, the mouse will freeze for a fraction of a second then continiue to run normally. is there a fix? its getting kind of annoying. thanx

Are you using a USB mouse? Also what spec machine do you have if the you do have a USB mouse.

yeah,, i have a usb mouse (intellimouse explorer) and i have a amd 1.2 ghz with a chaintech 7AIV5 mother board with 256 mb of ram...i dont know if its my mouse problem or the computer..please help if you can.. thanx

how bout un/installing mouse software again?

also might try using a PS2 mouse and another USB mouse, to find out if the problem lies in the hardware or mouse.

Try disabling the USB Error Detection in Device Manager under Universal Serial Bus Controllers.

This may or may not help. MS has some issues with mice and xp. You may want to try this (http://www.tweakxp.com/tweakxp/display.asp?id=595) or this (http://www.tweakxp.com/tweakxp/display.asp?id=695). These tweaks may solve the problem for you.
