DO you guys know any program or software than can detect our mobo's FSB accurately?

And I need some advises on getting a good new mobo to support an Athlon XP, how to install it and so on.

Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply. Got another question.

Can we overlock using this motherboard?

I hate it when MSI published inccorect infos about the mobo in the manual, when it stated that it was using a KM133A (ms-6340M) instead I found out ver1 printed on my mobo's pcb.

Thanks.

What incorrect info is there KM133A is you chipset model and Ver 1.0 (version 1.0) is most likely your BIOS Revision. An example would be for instance I have a KT133A Chipset and Ver 1.16 BIOS Revision. They are 2 different things. Also yes most if not all MSI motherboard are good for O/Cing my favorite is the MSI K7T Turbo LM I think thats it I'm not sure but it's the Red Limited Edition board. My favorite board overall is the Iwill XP333-R looks like a very promising board.

the Km133 is an intergrated chispet and as such will not be very good for overclocking
you may be able to do so,but not very well

as for cpu fsb monitoring and setting
try CPUCOOL

I think the ver1 refers to the pcb version of the MS-6340 which use a KM133 and it only support FSB200MHz which I won't be able to upgrade to Athlon XP :(

I'm getting a new board and XP1500 and I will overclock it to maybe around 1700-1800....any idea...

Had that motherboard. Get new bios from the MSI site and you can up your FSB from 100 to 112. Can't change voltage though, I would get a new board...wait...I already did!!!

(GO SHUTTLE!!!)
(Get the AK31 rev 3.1...it's SWEET!!!)

If you really want a nice board go with the Soyo Dragon Plus. You can check it out here www.soyo.com

It's so weird..look at how misleading the manual was....I use WCPUID and I found out my mobo's chipset is KT133 not KM133 so the mainboard is actually K7TM Pro (MS-6340)....

What do you think of the chipset...can we still overclock it?
