The HSF I'm using had a flat plastic thing on the cpu facing side of the HS, the its kinda gooey/rubbery to touch. Anyway I left this on and attached the HSF, should I have removed this or is it ok to stay there?

(p.s. I've seen this kinda thing mentioned before but I'm not sure if what is on my HS is the same as I've read about. So please don't tell me to read the Overclockers info pages as I've done that already).

Thanks.

Its a thermal pad- they suck!

Get some AS2 and get rid of it, you'll drop a few degrees.

It's an AMD voodoo spell, those are actually small slabs of dead flesh, ritualised over to represent the hides of top intel execs, they want them to feel the burn bad....... ;)

:D
