(QUICK READ IN MAGENTA)
As if Jab-tech.com needed any more praise on this forum... They'll get it nonetheless.
Last Friday I was trying to finish up my system (in sig) in preparation for the new 8800 GTS card release and in order to do so I needed to purchase a few fans and get them in this week. I was originally going to purchase 120mm Yate Loons in a slow speed, but decided to go with high speed and a Sunbeam controller instead.
After comparing prices and reputation, I decided on Jab-tech.com but found to my dismay that the D12SH-12 fans were out of stock. So I e-mailed Jab-tech Friday morning to check when/if they'd be back...
I received a quick reply that a completely new shipment came in Thursday and was being processed/unpacked, but wasn't in the system yet. I replied that I was hoping to get them into a build later next week and was hoping to purchase that day. Shortly thereafter Jab-tech put the item online (before it was 'offically' ready) for purchase and I ordered that afternoon.
Great! Got my order in. But I purchased an item which wasn't unpacked from the manufacturer near 4PM on a Friday.
Well, not only did Jab-tech confirm, pack, and ship before the end of the day they also sent a personally delivered tracking number to my e-mail and then they did it again on Tuesday when it arrived to let me know while I was at work!
Thank you Jab-tech!
Here's what I got in the end:
Those yates almost look like the real ones instead of the fake knockoffs that jab-tech was selling before. Can you provide a HQ picture of the front+back of a fan?

Mmm... This again. I had read the thread prior to this, but I'm of the opinion that there's always going to be manufacturing differences in products at this price range regardless of label.
I have no camera capable of an HQ closeup shot. The Canon A95 is a very nice everyday camera, but has no image stabilization.
The sticker is on both sides and reads as follows:
DC Brushless
D12SH-12
DC 12V 0.30A
LEFT LOGO, LEFT BOX, RIGHT BOX, RIGHT LOGO
709
YATE LOON ELECTRONICS
---
LEFT LOGO: cR(backwards merged with)UUS
LEFT BOX:

TU(umlaut)V
Rheinland
Product Safety
RIGHT BOX:
BAUART
GEPRU(umlaut)FT
---------------- <-- Line

APPROVED
RIGHT LOGO: CE
All contained within a gear outline.
Help any?

Well... I have use for them. No point in ordering more than you need (+1 or 2 if you're buying a large quantity to cover any failures, if any) ^^

Careful, I've never sold a fake yate loon, do not believe everything you read.
(BTW Thanks Ben!)
I do believe it's possible they are not fake, however a large batch from you guys was shown to be different from the ones sold at other sites. They would not put out as much CFM and many had problems (I too have a problem one it started vibrating last week so much that it will walk off a flat surface.. it was one of the new #7XX ones).

I do enjoy buying from you guys though. Really fast order processing and shipping as well as great prices.
Daisy chain them all together on one 12v line and see how many will run! :P .3amp x 15 I bet they'd all run. :P

I want to point out something obvious.
*JT(Jabtech) YL-SL has model # 511 (or five hundred something). Petra YL-SL has model #705
Those are manufacturing dates.. 511 = Nov 2005, 705 = May 2007.. 18 months differance in manufacturing can make a huge differance in the fan.
As for the not as much CFM, I assume you are referring to the Straight Blade / Curved Blade comparison that had a 4% differance. Well within the stated +/- 10%
However none of this is relevant, because every Yate Loon fan be it open corner, closed corner straight or curved blade was manufactured by Yate Loon.
I too have a problem one it started vibrating last week so much that it will walk off a flat surface.. it was one of the new #7XX ones
Expect this to happen, Yate Loon are cheap fans, 50% of the cost is shipping so go figure how cheap these things cost to manufacture. I expect that 5 - 8% of YL fans viberate within a couple months, the other 92 - 95% perform fine for a long time, however sleeve bearings are not going to last forever.
I have 5% return on nexus fans for viberation/bad bearings .. Differance is though YL brand are disposable at $3 and Nexus @ $15 aren't.

I didn't know this, thanks.

Nice. That means mine were done in September as 709s...
Nothing like having the latest and greatest in cheap electronics.
