i9 am thinking about setting up a duct to one of the intakes o my comp that will bring air directly from outside to my proc fan but i am wondering if it is humid that will be bad- i gues it might not if i only do it when it is cold- colorado winter- and not raining but would it cause problems? :eh?:

I sprayed my boards with an insulating spray for the condensation problem. I works great!

Yeah I guess you could spray everything with ignition sealer but it's awfully sticky stuff. I'd be worried that it would cause heat problems on the chips in the summer though. However, the winter air hereabouts is rather dry, so if you've got the same situation, you might like to try it and just keep a careful eye out for any problems. You might want to make sure though that only the outside air is being drawn into the case like that. If you just supply it to one intake fan, and have warmer damper inside air mixing in the case, then you're set for trouble.
Since you just want to do it to your CPU fan, you could tape up some soda bottle and/or tupperware tub ducting, so it only gets to that inside the case. However, then you wouldn't get airflow off the CPU fan spilling onto your voltage regs etc as it is designed to do on a lot of boards.

regards,
Road Warrior I used an acrylic insulating spray, specifically made for this. Looks like you sprayed your board with clear lacquer or something. It's totally non conductive. Summer is another issue, now while I get this free winter air I can work on that. Oh yeah, put you a filter on it, you don't wanna suck in any birds or anything.

If you could draw the air from under the house there would be no condensation and no worries about sealers or any spray, give it a try and keep an eye on it and you will do just fine.
